SFSR the weekend of 29,30
and Oct 1. We have permision to use the canoes on lake Payne, we
also have a qualified adult scout leader that will help us with
using the tower.
Flaming Arrows: Lewis,
Micheal, Joe
Dragons: Sam, Jerel, Jason
Eagles: Bryce,Quinn
Old Goats: Marcus, Glenn, Roger, Bryan, Paulette, and Guest Bill
Arrived Friday night and were greeted by Ranger Tony at SFSR.
Decided to camp an OKAY campsite. Later another troop set up camp
across the road from us, turns out to be troop 17 from Moore, OK.
Go 100 miles onto a 1500 acre camp ground , just to have a chance
to camp with you neighbor. We meet the Adult leaders and several
of the scouts came over for Sat campfire. They shared some of
there baked Yucca root with us. Saturday we went to the tower and
found ranger Tony with all the equipment to help us get started
in our quest. Everyone is now over that first step backing off a
platform into nothing. Special thanks to Bill for helping with
the safety and in helping to talk everyone into jumping. In the
afternoon after lunch it got hot so we went down to the lake to
cool off, Canoeing, swimming, hiking, fishing, and hiking around
the lake were done. About 3pm we went back to the tower and
repelled until dark. Upon arriving back at camp we enjoyed the
Best Beef stew I can remember. After dinner we then had a treat I
hope to enjoy a lot more in the future it was Pumpkin Pecan
Cobbler and it is one of those things I\'92ve never had before
but now one that I don\'92t think I can get by without some more.
Special thanks to Roger and Paulette for being Grubmaster/Cooks
on this camp out. Ranger Tony was very friendly and helpful and I
wish to thank him from all of us. He and his staff really made us
feel welcome. Had several skunks visit us Saturday night, kinda
tame they didn\'92t scare off easy. Great weather warm days cool
nights. Saturday nights Stew was so good we had it for breakfast
along with fresh baked biscuits. }
