feb camping news
Place: Flat top mountain
Time: Feb 17 & 18, 2001
Adult leader in charge: Glenn
Old Goat Patrol: Glenn, Marcus
Flamming Arrows: Joe, Chriss?,
Dragon Patrol: Nathan, Sam, Jarel, Jason, Bryce,
Plan: Drive POV's to parking area, hike to campsite with all
equipment and supplys. Set up camp and spend 1 or 2 nights on
Flat Top mt. Everyone is to supply and prepair food for themselfs.
Water pumps will be used to obtain clean water from the running
streams near campsite.
Back from the mountain. A little cool, but plenty of firewood and a nice fire ring near the pond. Everyone pigged out with plenty of food and drinks. Joe shared several scouting skills to the troop to help make things even more fun. Rod was already at the campsite with his drum "Tom" to spice things up a bit. It's a long hard uphill hike but the view and fellowship was well worth the effort. Lots of soft dirt and green grass to pitch our tents on, the mountain blocked the north wind, a cool wind did come from the south acrost the pond , we had to keep up on our grard to keep the fire going. Thanks to Bryan for taking giving rides to and Steve for the ride back.
